FISHING CHALLENGE

THE 2ND ANNUAL WFC

An all-Ladies Fishing Competition that encourages every type of recreational female angler to compete!

This was the second year of our fantastic competition, that encouraged every type of female angler to compete.

This year we extended the boundaries to incorporate more of the south east Queensland region.

We had 138 lovely ladies competing in this competition.

2022 was the first year we had Champion Anglers

2022 STATS

Most fish for any TMF event in 2022 in Australia and 2nd overall to Luremasters in NZ

  • Total fish : 2464

  • Total species reported : 119

  • New Species (never reported before)  : Eastern Fortescue

OFFSHORE CHAMPION ANGLER

Let me introduce to Megan Fah our OFFSHORE CHAMPION ANGLER. Megan won this title by catching 2 of the 5 target species. She only just beat her niece Lacey Borg. Both had caught 2/5, but to get a winner it was based on total overall length for both species. (Amberjack and Spanish Mackerel)

FRESHWATER CHAMPION ANGLER

CHAMPION FRESHWATER ANGLER: Leaon Walker To get your name up in lights on this spectacular trophy by Brett Hilton. Leaon Walker won 3 out of the 4 Freshwater Categories. Bass, Golden Perch and Silver Perch

ESTUARY CHAMPION ANGLER

HE SMILE SAYS IT ALL. Kerrie O'Gorman took out the CHAMPTION ESTUARY ANGLER Award. Kerrie just like Leaon Walker fished hard during the event, even with the trying conditions. She took out the most Estuary Fish in week 4 and Most Meterage for Week 3 and 4. Caught the MOST LAND BASED FISH - 308 FISH. PLUS caught 4 of the 5 target species for the TROPHY. 🤩 GREAT EFFORT Kerrie O'Gorman

CHAMPION JUNIOR ANGLER

CHAMPION JUNIOR ANGLER : MARLEE HAWKINS. 🏆🎣 Marlee took out the First ever Champion Junior Angler Award by catching 103 fish, including 13 species. The majority of this land based. She is a true champion in the making. CONGRATULATIONS once again Marlee on your outstanding performance, including winning 3 of the Junior weekly prizes.🌟
