Womens Freshwater Kayak Fishing Workshop In Collaboration with Battle Yak Lures

“Paddle • Cast • Confidence”
Learn to fish confidently from a kayak with our hands-on kayak fishing experience.
You’ll gain the skills to safely paddle, balance, and manoeuvre your kayak, set it up for fishing, and manage exciting fish encounters with confidence. Learn how to find bass using structure, weather, wind, and sounder interpretation, while building a solid understanding of lure fishing, knots, and casting techniques using both spin and baitcaster gear. Perfect for anglers looking to build independence, confidence, and safety on the water.
No kayak fishing experience required.
Date: Saturday 20th June 2026
Location: SMEAC- Ewen Maddock Dam (bathroom facilities on site)
Duration: 7 hours (9am-4pm)
Skill Level: Beginner/Intermediate
Water Type: Calm lake/dam
Cost: Adults (over 18): $70 each
Juniors (12-17 yrs): $50 each (Must be accompanied by a paying adult over 18)

Required Equipment
- SIPS permit required from each participant
- Fishing kayaks (recommended for beginners)
- Paddles
- Properly fitted PFDs (mandatory)
- Fishing rods with leashes
- Basic freshwater tackle kits
- Dry bags (great for keeping your phone and other valuables in)
- Scissors, pliers, side cutters, (lips grips but not essential)
- Chair, hat, water and sunglasses
- Sunscreen, insect repellent
- Medication
- Personal snacks
